BANDINFO:
With their unique and emotionally charged debut "Heaven / Earth" the East German five piece Mainpoint established themselves as a convincing Goth Rock act right away. The talented band was founded as a trio back in 1996. Soon the first line-up released a demo entitled "Zungenfleisch" (-> "Flesh Of The Tongue"), which managed to gain first positive reactions. After the release of said demo Silke E., a talented keyboarder, joined Mainpoint, her first recorded apperance being the live tape "Our Live Pink Image". Mainpoint then created a characteristic und easly identifiable style, which in places reminds of Type O Negative. Impressive quiet parts feature clear male vocals often even doubled up. The result of their work was a collection of wonderful and moving melodies, a unique mixture of dark, hard rock and very emotional reflections from the composer´s souls. October 1997 saw the release of a 6 track EP called "Lost Sense", that had to offer even more new influneces. This release was a true D.I.Y. campaign and got positive feedback from the musicpress. Karsten R. joined Moinpoint as a second guitarplayer to further reinforce Mainpoint´s sound with his versatile playing. Finally the five-piece produced their full length debut, "Heaven / Earth", which will spread an enchanting acoustic veil over the listener as well as release him or her from any depressed musical agonies with accessible and inventive rhythms.
