The
current successor of „In Blood We Thrust", released in 2000, shows Czech
Death-Metal kings Hypnos at their best again. This time the resolute trio sounds so wild
and vehement, as if they are out to conquer the world. And considering their high-caliber
songmaterial there are no obstacles to that. The self-titled debut MCD, released ealier
last year, did not allow any doubts concerning the honest and thus convincing attitude of
this Death Metal … On the new album they are more brutal than ever, yet they have
clearly matured a whole notch, thanks to the line-up, thats has finally stabilized. With
their new compositions Hypnos attack the auditory canals of their fans, which might even
lead to the loss of hearing. On this new release the dealy threesome has nine enormously
diverse Death Metal projectile in the barrel and there is no escape. This is Death Metal
how it is meant to be: incredibly heavy guitar riff the strings off their fretboards in
pure exstasy and thundering drums bang out a true symphony of cruelty like a merciless
barrage. Morbid and abnormal cruelty seems to be the slogan of the hour in the Hypnos
camp: all tracks feature an indescribable violence, that leaves you speechless. It is
still gratifying to achknowledge, that the well-tried mixture of brutality and melody
stillis present in their music. Again the band, founded by former members of Czech Death
Metal icon Krabathor, excels and sets out to give the death blow with „The Revenge
Ride". And Hypnos know no mercy. Ex-Krabathor-members frontman Bruno and drummer
Pegas have thrown off the laurels, they have earned with their former band to teach their
old bandmates a lesson in fear. Comparisons with the old band are not permissible, because
Hypnos are a unique listening experience and theyare in a class of their own.
